Nail Technician, and Makeup Artist

Ashley

Initially following a collegiate career path in the mental health field, Ashley chose to take a different direction in following her passion. “Things in my life were shifting,” she explains. “All signs were pointing back to the idea of getting my cosmetology license.”

Fondly remembering her Playskool Beauty Salon set, Ashley knew that she wanted to be a “beautician” since she was a little girl, when she would practice setting her grandmother’s hair in rollers during after-school visits. “I found myself taking a giant leap and just going for it,” she continues, attending beauty school and subsequently earning her cosmetology license. In addition to her role at On The Fringe Hair Studio, Ashley is a full-time children’s case manager at a community-based education and human services provider.

“I am rewarded by the simple fact that I finally get to practice my passion,” Ashley explains, but also finds similarities in the two career paths she has chosen. “The fact that hairdressers play so many roles behind the chair allows me to use my rapport-building skills along with my creativity and vision.” She enjoys collaborating with her clients, helping them to both look and feel great, and “loves when a client leaves feeling confident and beautiful.”

A stylist apprentice at the On The Fringe Hair Studio, Ashley currently offers blow dry services, manicures, pedicures, and makeup artistry. She will offer additional studio services as she continues to enhance her skill set through continuing education opportunities.

When she’s not at the studio, Ashley enjoys taking “mini adventure trips” with her husband, Jerry, driving on the open road “just to see where we end up” – especially enjoying when the drive happens to end up at the beach! She and Jerry enjoy spending time with Sherman Potter - their Brittany Spaniel/Beagle. Ashley also enjoys painting … and a good Netflix series binge.

Education and training ● Cosmetology program, Empire Beauty School (Moosic, PA); Sexy Hair, certified and trained; and Penn State University Rehabilitation and Human Services major (2010 graduate).
